I love random

We went looking for bento boxes yesterday, but there seems to be a citywide bento shortage. Time for some young entrepreneur to jump on that, eh? We were able to find the cup from this charming set:

In case you can’t read the fine print:

“feel at ease…
enjoy a quiet lunch while feeling a season.
nature put a person at his ease.”

How could I not buy that?

We also found the cutest crackers I’ve ever seen.

Some of the more uncommon animals included?

horse

leopard
pelican
pigeon

  1. Sensing an, um, erinaceous gap there! I know you have lots of cool Asian markets in Richardson, but the next time you’re in Portland we should try uwajimaya. Bento seems perfect for the predilection in your house towards octopied hotdogs and beautiful arrangements of food.

  2. You knew this place existed and you didn’t take me there?! Withholding cool Japanese stuff may be grounds for a divorce, you know. I suppose I’m just going to have to come and visit again soon…

  3. ROADTRIP TO UWAJIMAYA, because you can just never have enough cute plastic stuff in which to cram decorative-sized portions of food. This probably sounds sarcastic but I’m totally serious! Nature put a person at his ease! I need some of those cute antibacterial tinfoil bento dividers with smiling fruits on them. Oh, and the thing that shapes your hard-boiled egg into a decapitated Hello Kitty.
